We love to see the excitement on our customers’ faces when they start saving with solar, and James Treble takes the cake! As a recent convert to solar, James was thrilled to take Roshan on a tour of his newly renovated home and discuss the benefits of LONGi solar panels. With guidance from Energy Matters, James chose LONGi to power his gorgeous house. Let’s take a look at why.

The powerful panel that could

Solar is an investment with a monetary return, unlike most household purchases. James and Roshan discussed the many benefits of solar, one of the most important being that they continue to generate free electricity. Where new floorboards, a paint job, and fancy tiles may enhance the home’s aesthetics, they will not provide the return on investment that you will immediately see with solar. LONGi takes the ROI to the next level with its impressive technology.

The LONGi Hi-MO X6 solar panel packs a punch with its small footprint and high power output. James’ small roof footprint was no obstacle for the powerful panels – easily allowing 10kW of panels to be installed on the north, east, and west-facing faces. James needed the panels to tick several boxes:

  • High power output
  • Sleek aesthetics
  • Low profile
  • High return on investment

The Hi-MO X6 panels checked them all with ease.

LONGi’s Hi-MO X6 solar panels pack a punch

Let’s take a look under the hood of the Hi-MO X6 panels. We’ll look at the Hi-MO X6 Scientist modules.

These panels house sophisticated technology. The Hi-MO X6 panels utilise Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) technology which allows the modules to achieve greater than 25.8% cell efficiency.

HPBC technology is an advanced solar cell design that combines the benefits of passivation and back contact techniques to enhance the efficiency and performance of photovoltaic cells. In HPBC cells, the rear surface is passivated to reduce energy losses, while electrical contacts are placed on the back, allowing for more effective light absorption on the front surface. This design maximises the cell’s power output and efficiency by minimising energy losses and improving overall electrical performance. The result is a higher energy yield, making LONGi Hi-MO X6 panels more efficient.

Hi-MO X6: Low-profile panels

The average thickness of a solar panel is 35-40mm. The LONGi Hi-MO X6 panels come in at just 30mm. The reduced thickness creates a low-profile panel which, when coupled with low-profile racking and railing, reduces the ‘gap’ between the panel and the roof. This reduced gap prevents the potential for debris plus adds a layer of insulation to the roof.

The low profile of the panel was especially appealing to James, who spent a large portion of his renovation budget on a new roof. Achieving a sleek and practical design was paramount, and achieved with the Hi-MO X6 panels.

Splitting the array also allowed for greater solar generation capacity, with 3 arrays spread over 3 orientations. Panels on the east generate from the morning sun while the north and west-facing panels provide energy throughout the day and into the evening. Capturing as much sunlight as possible will mean that James’ system will pay for itself in just a few short years.

Investing in solar is investing in the future

A quality solar system will produce electricity for 25-plus years. LONGi guarantees that the Hi-MO X6 panels will generate at least 88.9% of its day-one power at 25 years. That’s a degradation of only 11.1% after 25 years! Almost no other appliance in your home will be expected to function, let alone perform, after 25 years. Your fridge and washing machine are expected to last around 13 years. Your hot water system will give you between 8 and 15 years, depending on the technology, and your expensive central HVAC will give you a good 15 to 20 years. None of these save you money. Solar exists purely to reduce or eliminate your electricity bills.

Invest in solar now and reap the benefits for the next few couple of decades and beyond!

If you’re ready to begin your solar journey, why not do it with LONGi solar panels? With exceptional product and performance warranties, outstanding efficiency and power production, and fantastic street appeal, you can power your home with LONGi solar panels for the next 25-plus years!
