The RPS150 system from Viridi has been evaluated for the UL 9540 standard for energy storage system safety by Intertrek.
Virdi also recently held a live demonstration at its “No Heat Zone” event at Viridi’s Buffalo, New York, facility where the batteries were pushed into thermal runaway for the public to see its safe fire containment features.
“Following our successful burn event, this only validates our technology even more,” said Jon M. Williams, CEO of Viridi. “At our No Heat Zone event, we proved our system’s ability to stop the propagation of energy between cells even under a thermal event. This ETL listing to UL 9540 now reinforces that our design meets the highest industry safety standards — not just in theory, but in real-world conditions.”
The Viridi RPS150 system is a mobile, trailer-mounted lithium battery system, with 146 kWh of stored power and a 3,000-cyclelife.
