Confirming to India’s Net Zero mission, Loom Solar has been in the process of educating and working on the agenda across India with all potential sectors to reduce carbon footprint for their energy consumption, and with over 1.5 million textile and fashion cloth manufacturing industrial units being one of the prime contributors to that has been one of the focus segments for the company as it holds a potential of reducing 4.5 metric tonnes of carbon which equals to 7 bn fully grown trees.
Loom Solar has been deploying and engaging with the Industrial units across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal under green energy ambit by providing in-depth understanding of the purpose and the India’s mission for carbon footprint.
Continuing with its focus, Loom Solar has recently deployed 350 kW solar powered solution with its most efficient solar panels to reflect its long-term corrective action, thereby reducing dependence on captive power through diesel genset for its premises.
The currently deployed unit boasts of an array of 700 solar panels, that are slated to reduce its electricity bill by 60% and with the coupling of diesel genset’s synchronization device making solar power as a primary source shall effectively have an impact on the environment over its lifetime.
With over 300 sunny days in the northern India, the panels are going to breakeven on the investments in about 4 years of installation and that is precisely the time that the panels will take for their own carbon footprint.
Speaking on the occasion, Nishi Chandra, Head Marketing, Loom Solar, said, “It is encouraging to see the acceptance and utilization practices that Industrial units esp. the textile and clothing units have been undertaking with due diligence and consideration of ESG practices. With solar power being the primary source, units like these can be part of organically certified category for clothing while making the claim even more ethical. We welcome more industries to adopt solar not in the fear of policy but in commitment to the environment and communities where they operate.”
