Sorry to send you into a flurry so early but the end of the current financial year is drawing near! June 30, 2024, is creeping toward us, so with it comes the opportunity to cash in on current solar deals. Solar retailers and salespeople will be eager to offload their stock and meet their targets, and you can reap the benefits. Some state incentives are also drawing to a close, so let’s look at whether now is the time to go solar.
Why is the end of the financial year a busy time in the solar industry?
We’ve all seen them – advertising for EOFY sales. The solar industry, like most others, works around the financial year; July 1 to June 30. This means that books need to be balanced and retailers are incentivised to reduce the cost of their products and services. EOFY is usually the busiest time of the year for solar installers, and installation availability can be booked out for weeks, or even months, after July 1. This is true for residential AND commercial solar. Clicking on the button below will take you to our FREE quotes portal. There you will be able to request quotes for residential and commercial buildings.
What state incentives are changing or ending after June 30, 2024?
Thankfully, none of the solar rebates and incentives in any state are ending this financial year. However, there are some expected changes.
The available rebates for the Victorian Solar Homes Program are expected to reduce from July 1, 2024. This means that the available rebates in each monthly cycle will be reduced. The 2023-2024 financial year saw 53,000 rebates available for Victorians.
There is one notable removal from the list of available subsidies, incentives, and rebates and this one is in the ACT. While it does not impact solar, residents looking to take advantage of free registration for two years for newly purchased EVs will have until June 30 to benefit.
Should I invest in solar before July 1, 2024?
