Imperial Star Solar, which will start module assembly out of its Texas factory before the end of the year, announced it has entered into a multi-year supply agreement with Suniva for American-made solar cells. Market availability of the solar panels with Suniva cells will begin in the first half of 2025.
“This partnership with Suniva exemplifies Imperial Star Solar’s mission to empower excellence in American solar,” said Isabella Xu, CEO of Imperial Star Solar. “By integrating Suniva’s domestically produced solar cells into our modules, we’re strengthening a U.S. supply chain that prioritizes quality, control, and energy security.”
Suniva just recently restarted solar cell manufacturing operations in Georgia. Imperial Star Solar will operate a 1.5-GW solar panel facility in Tomball, Texas.
“We are excited to partner with Imperial Star, who shares our vision for a growing and secure United States’ solar PV supply chain.” said Cristiano Amoruso, CEO of Suniva. “Suniva continues to lead by doing – building America’s largest and only source of American-made solar cells while proving that bolstering America’s energy security, creating American jobs, and maintaining a vibrant solar industry are highly consistent goals.”
