QuickBOLT, a solar mounting and roofing solutions provider, is launching QuickPATCH, a patent-pending product designed to address one of the most persistent challenges in the solar and roofing industries: roof holes caused by missed rafters, safety anchors, weather, age or other system installations.
The QuickPATCH is a 4- by 5-in. galvanized steel patch backed by butyl adhesive and features a butyl-coated top edge for resealing the shingle course after installation.
“At QuickBOLT, we’re encouraged to share ideas and address the real challenges our customers face,” said Matthew Saavedra, outside sales, Northwestern region for QuickBOLT. “I was thrilled to contribute this idea and am impressed with the team’s work in turning it into a product that solves a major industry problem.”
QuickPATCH aims to reduce the labor necessary for sealing accidental roof penetrations, and is applied with a method dubbed “Peel, Place and Press.”
“QuickPATCH™ is a response to feedback we’ve received from solar installers and other tradespeople who needed a quick, reliable and consistent way to seal roof holes and repair roof damage,” said Rick Gentry, VP of new product development for QuickBOLT. “The product was developed and tested internally at QuickBOLT, and we are proud of the convenience, speed and durability it offers.”
