Scanifly, a PV design and field operations software provider, has integrated services with PV mounting manufacturer K2 Systems. Solar contractors can now access the K2 Quote tool without leaving Scanifly’s platform.
The direct API integration lets PV designers select racking equipment optimized for their layout and generate a bill of materials (BOM) in one workflow.
“Moving between platforms to complete designs wastes time and creates opportunity for errors,” said Jason Steinberg, CEO of Scanifly. “Our K2 Quote integration keeps everything in one place, so contractors can design and specify the racking solutions needed without switching between tools.”
Through integrating services, there’s no need to recreate designs in K2 Quote, reducing the time needed for designing project layouts. The integration leverages Scanifly’s drone-based design technology, which produces a to-scale 3D model of the property with surface measurements and structural details that transfer into K2 Quote, requiring no manual data entry.
“Scanifly’s 3D models give us the precision needed for accurate solar designs,” said Todd Lindquist, key account technical supervisor at Eagle Point Solar. “Now, with the K2 Quote integration, that same level of accuracy automatically extends to our bill of materials, which removes duplicate work and ensures our teams have the exact equipment they need on site. This is our ideal workflow—pairing our preferred flush mount racking system with our favorite solar design software.”
