SolAmerica Energy is celebrating the energization of two on-site, behind-the-meter solar projects for Grain & Protein Technologies for its facilities in Paris and Taylorville, Ilinois. Together, the projects total 3.125 MWAC and will provide affordable electricity under two separate PPAs for the next 15 years.
Both projects benefit from Renewable Energy Credits (REC) contracts under the Illinois Adjustable Block Program, helping to enable highly competitive PPA rates. In service of the customer’s sustainability goals, the projects also call for provision of separate Green E-certified RECs to replace those RECs sold under the state program.
“Grain & Protein Technologies has been a great partner to SolAmerica Energy in realizing these projects,” said SolAmerica Energy CEO Tully Blalock. “The state of Illinois has also done an excellent job of creating a climate where solar can thrive. We are excited to provide our customers with low-cost solar-generated electricity over the next 15 years.”
