California-based nonprofit solar advocacy organization Vote Solar laid off 11 people, 20% of its 55-person staff, in late August, according to executive director Sachu Constantine.
In a LinkedIn post, Constantine said the move was in response to the rapidly evolving political and funding landscape.
“This reduction in workforce is part of a broader effort to ensure long-term organizational sustainability and operate effectively in the face of a rapidly changing and uncertain environment,” Constantine said in the post.
This is the second solar layoff news for the week, with LMI-focused solar installation company PosiGen laying off nearly its entire staff on August 24.
