Nextracker has launched its proprietary NX PowerMerge trunk connector, a DC power component designed to streamline electrical balance of systems (eBOS) installation. This marks the first addition to Nextracker’s eBOS platform since the company’s acquisition of Bentek this year.

“We are excited to introduce NX PowerMerge to advance the electrical architecture of solar power plants,” said Dan Shugar, founder and CEO of Nextracker. “Customers will appreciate faster and more flexible construction, greater reliability, and alignment with the attributes of a modern grid. This is the kind of highly scalable technology that can help solar power continue to grow its share of the global power generation market.”
Compared to traditional trunk systems, NX PowerMerge uses fewer connections and a simplified installation process to establish a secure power distribution path across the tracker array. Built for compatibility with all utility-scale solar trackers and fixed-tilt systems, NX PowerMerge is tested to endure extreme environmental conditions, and scales when integrated with Nextracker’s NX Horizon solar tracking systems. NX PowerMerge trunk connector is available now with shipments beginning spring 2026, offering a domestically manufactured option.
NX PowerMerge is a 2-kV-ready solution for PV string-to-trunk bus connections. It has more than 400-A ampacity and can support up to eight tap wires (six to eight AWG) and is compatible with trunk conductors up to 1000 kcmil. The system also uses gel-free sealing for cleaner installations
Nextracker will be showcasing its full technology platform, including NX PowerMerge, at booth V9223 at RE+ 2025 at The Venetian in Las Vegas from September 8 to 11.
